Compost Site

The Ellinwood Compost Site is located at the Ellinwood airport, 1/2 more north of the intersection of Park and 7th Street.  Citizens should use the first entrance south of the airport entrance.  The compost site is open seven days a week, 7 a.m. to dark.  In the event of rain or inclement weather the compost site will not be open.

Acceptable Yard Waste

• Grass
• Leaves
• Garden Waste
• Tree Limbs (Trunks up to 24″ in diameter and no longer than 5 feet)
• Shrubs and Yard Waste

Non Acceptable Items:

• Garbage
• Household waste
• Tires
• Asphalt shingles
• Building materials
• Paper products
• Lumber

A waste container is available onsite to dispose of plastic bags.
