Wolf Park & Bandshell
Wolf Pond & RV Park
The Wolf Pond & RV Park is located on the south side of Highway 56 (Santa Fe & Fritz) in Ellinwood. Wolf Pond is a popular destination for fishing enthusiasts. Wolf Pond is also home to the Annual Fishing Derby held during the After Harvest Festival in July. The RV Park has four sites available for rent. Each site has water and electric hook-ups, (20/30/50). Sites overlook Wolf Pond and this area is the gateway to two national wetland refuges.
The hook-up fee is $8.00 per day. Payment can be made onsite or at the City Office located at 104 East 2nd in Ellinwood.
The Ellinwood Recreation Department provided recreation programs for many years. In November 2012, the city council was approached about the formation of a joint recreation commission with USD 355. A motion was passed by the council to support the formation and a recreation commission board was formed. In April 2013, this matter was placed on the ballot and approved by voters. The Ellinwood Recreation Commission was formed on January 20, 2014.
The recreation office is located on the lower level of Sunflower Bank.
The City of Ellinwood has a number of fields available for reservation through the Recreation Commission at 13 North Main. For additional questions on policies and fees, or for availability information, please call (620) 566-7323.
The Recreation Commission has priority on the fields. Availability of these fields are dependent upon the fields being used by the Recreation Commission.
The Ellinwood Recreation Commission solicits sponsors for our youth recreation programs. For more information on how you can get involved, please contact Alex Birney at (620) 566-7323 or email Alex at [email protected]. Thank you for your continued support of our recreation programs.
